The French Revolution section in One Jump Ahead has proved very successful in the last couple of years. The likes of subsequent Champion Hurdle winner Espoir D'Allen, five times Grade 1 winner Defi Du Seuil and Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner Klassical Dream have all been included in the feature and there are plenty of exciting prospects in this year's article. In addition, to the 30 plus horses who will be trained by some of the leading yards in the UK and Ireland, I am delighted to include comments from former French champion jockey James Reveley. Unfortunately, James broke his arm whilst riding in Belgium last week but he found time on Saturday to pass on his comments regarding a number of the horses which have been purchased since. I am sure readers will find his remarks informative. James has ridden 11 Grade 1 winners in France and is very familiar with the Guillaume Macaire trained horses.
A new section in this year's One Jump Ahead is Handicap Snips. I have highlighted around 15 horses who will hopefully prove ahead of the handicapper, including a new recruit to champion trainer Paul Nicholls. It promises to be an exciting feature. I also completed the Stable Gossip article on Tuesday afternoon. There is all the latest news from the yards of Dan Skelton and Nigel Twiston-Davies, including some unraced bumper horses. On the same theme, I have included an unraced three year old who was previously in training with William Haggas. I contacted the head of Somerville Lodge this afternoon to ask about the horse in question and William gave him a resounding thumbs up. All being well, he will make his racecourse debut in a junior bumper for his new stable. All is revealed in One Jump Ahead 2019/2020.
