Apologies for the lack of recent update to the Diary but I have been away for ten days. During my absence, Downtown Getaway and Vision D'Honneur have provided the Top 40 Prospects with a couple of winners, although there have been a few which have got away. I will discuss the majority of the 40 in the forthcoming February Update, which I am currently working on.
The French Revolution section in OJA - pages 124 - 130 - made a slow start to the season but it has produced some good winners in recent weeks. Eclair De Beaufeu (100/30), Elfile (11/4), Faire Part Sivola (3/1) and French Made (3/1) have all won this month and rate good prospects for the rest of this campaign and beyond. I suggest readers keep a close eye on the others in the feature, especially when the rain finally arrives.
Talking of the February Update, I am going to have a look at some of the handicaps at the Cheltenham Festival and nominate a few likely contenders. I did something similar last year and featured the subsequent Brown Advisory & Merribelle Stable Plate winner The Storyteller, plus Mall Dini (runner-up in the Kim Muir) and Nube Negra (third in the Fred Winter Juvenile Hurdle). If you haven't ordered your copy, please head to the Publications section of the site.
