Interview with Jedd O'Keeffe

Racing behind closed doors in Ireland came to an end on Tuesday which means there won't be any action on either side of the Irish Sea before mid April at the earliest and even longer in the UK. It is obviously a difficult time for everyone and nobody knows when things are going to get back to normal. As discussed, I am continuing to write Ahead On The Flat but the publishing date is unknown - there is no point producing it in early April if there isn't going to be any racing for weeks or months. I will therefore update on here once I am aware of what is happening. In the meantime, I interviewed Jedd O'Keeffe on Wednesday afternoon. Micky Hammond's former assistant enjoyed a personal best campaign in 2019 with 31 winners and he was busy at last year's Autumn sales. Along with increasingly active owners Quantum, Jedd bought seven horses at the Newmarket Horses in Training Sale last October for a total of 482,000gns. There are some exciting prospects amongst them and the Middleham based handler has a lot to look forward to. He is a tremendous addition to Ahead On The Flat.
