Making his belated reappearance after an absence of 254 days, the lightly raced Deja appreciated the step up to a mile and a half for the first time at Kempton on Wednesday evening. Peter Chapple-Hyam's four year old looked rusty early on but warmed to his task and wasn't hard pressed to beat the hat-trick seeing Soto Sizzler in comfortable fashion under Andrea Atzeni by three and a half lengths. The son of Youmzain has now won four of his five career starts and it will be no surprise to see him entered in the £1m Sky Bet Ebor at York next month. Scoring here off a mark of 93, he will need to rise sharply in the weights though to ensure a place in the line-up on the Knavesmire. Withdrawn at York and Newmarket earlier this spring on account of fast ground, he seemingly prefers some ease underfoot. Provided he stays in one piece, there is a good prize to be won with Deja.
