Chris Gordon has his team in excellent form with 4 winners from only 14 runners during the last fortnight. The Winchester based handler sent out Kayf Legend (5/2) to win the concluding bumper at Stratford on Monday. Chris spoken enthusiastically about the four year old on page 64 of One Jump Ahead likening him to the yard's Grade 2 winning novice hurdler Aucunrisque (won the same bumper last year). Fourth in his sole Irish point for Donnchadh Doyle, he was well supported on his Rules debut at the Warwickshire track and didn't let his backers down with a four lengths victory. Staying on strongly in the homestraight, Tom Cannon's mount won going away and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him contest the Listed bumper at Cheltenham's Paddy Power meeting next month (13th November). The aforementioned Aucunrisque was placed in that event twelve months ago.
Switching codes, Kirilenko (7/1) supplied the Maidens In Waiting section in Ahead On The Flat with another winner at Windsor on Monday. Sir Michael Stoute's filly had only raced twice this term and was returning from a break of 99 days before landing the one mile handicap at the Thames track by a nose.
