Colin Tizzard's string have struggled to find consistency this Autumn/Winter but the West country handler sent out a double at his local track Wincanton on Thursday. These included Striking A Pose who was an easy winner on his handicap debut off an opening mark of 117. Featured in the English Pointers section of One Jump Ahead, the Getaway gelding had finished third in novice hurdles over two miles at Newton Abbot and Ascot. Stepping in distance here, he looked much better than his mark as he strolled clear under Robbie Power to win by eight and a half lengths. Purchased for £95,000 in February having won his only point-to-point for Tom Ellis, he will hopefully build on this and develop into a useful type. Long-term, he will come into his own over fences over three miles.
The English Pointers section, which is written by my Racing TV colleague Jonathan Neesom, has also unearthed other promising youngsters Indigo Breeze and Take Your Time.
