The Top 40 prospects continue to perform under par with another couple of losers in the last few days. Greek Order could only finish third in the seven furlongs novice stakes at Salisbury on Thursday. The twice raced son of Kingman may have been inconvenienced by the delay beforehand with a number of the runners playing up and refusing to go in the stalls. As a result, Ryan Moore's mount was in the stalls for some time and missed the break as a result. Despite making up the ground and holding every chance inside the final quarter of a mile, the Roger and Harry Charlton trained runner could only run on at the once pace. Being a half-brother to ten furlongs Group 3 winner, it is possible he wants further. Expect to see him over a mile or even ten furlongs next time. Indeed, don't be surprised if he lines up in the London Gold Cup at Newbury (20th May), a race his stable have won four times in the last dozen years. He is better than he showed here.

While the Top 40 have been very disappointing, the Unraced Three Year Olds section has unearthed two very promising types trained by John and Thady Gosden. On Saturday, the Normandie Stud owned Gregory was an impressive winner at Haydock. On Wednesday, the same patron's Queen For You (4/1) make a striking start to her career in a competitive looking novice stakes at Ascot. Well touted beforehand, she is a well bred daughter of Kingman out of the Coronation Stakes winner Fallen For You. Held up in the one mile event, she easily made up ground under Robert Havlin and wasn't hard pressed to beat the 79 rated Copy Artist by a couple of lengths. She is a filly with a big future who can only improve with racing. She looks a Pattern race material and very much one to follow. The Listed Michael Seely Memorial Stakes at York (19th May) is a possibility provided it doesn't come too soon.
