Buffer Zone (5/4) looks a smart sprinter in the making

The Handicap Snips section in Ahead On The Flat has been in splendid form with Diocletian (33/1) and Sam Gold (Evens) winning on Saturday. Buffer Zone (page 113) made a winning reappearance at Windsor on Monday evening. Conceding weight all round in a six furlongs novice event, the son of Bated Breath showed a lot of speed and won easing down by two and a quarter lengths under Kieran Shoemark. Officially rated 83, he is suited by quick ground and looks tailormade for the six furlongs charity sprint for three year olds at York later this month (0-105) - 16th June. He looks a sprinter to follow and couldn't be in better hands. Roger Charlton's team have yet to hit top form but it is only a matter of time before they do.
