Those orders received for One Jump Ahead by late morning on Thursday have been sent out. We only have around 200 copies left in stock. Thank you very much to those clients who have purchased a copy, plus the Updates. The response has been superb.
As I have stated in the past, horse racing is a fantastic sport to be involved in but it can be very tough at times. On Wednesday evening, I was involved in the Value Racing Club jumps preview interviewing David Pipe, Tom Lacey, Jamie Snowden and Rebecca Menzies. The quartet were excellent passing on news of some of their stable stars and their new recruits. Less than twenty four hours later, David announced that his leading hurdler and strong fancy for this weekend's Cesarewitch Adagio had suffered a heart attack on the gallops on Thursday morning. It is a real sickener for everyone involved at Pond House Stables.
The Talking Trainers section in One Jump Ahead has made a very good start and that run continued on Thursday with 3 more winners from only 4 runners. Mount Benete (11/2) supplied the in-form Chris Gordon with another winner on his Rules debut in the bumper at Worcester. The four year old had finished runner-up in his sole English point-to-point for Charlie and Francesca Poste in March before being acquired for £60,000 at the Cheltenham Festival Sale shortly afterwards. Ridden by Tom Cannon, the Proconsul gelding still looked green but responded to his jockey's urgings before staying on strongly to win by a length and a quarter.
OJA is well represented at Chepstow on Friday with plenty of runners. I am working at York for Racing TV and will therefore update the Diary on my return over the weekend.
