One of the most popular sections in Ahead On The Flat and One Jump Ahead is the Talking Trainers feature, which covers some of the biggest names in the sport from both codes.
As regards this year's edition of Ahead On The Flat, I am once again proud to announce it is the only publication which includes a stable interview with Newmarket trainer William Haggas. There are 65 horses covered from Somerville Lodge. The other trainers featured for 2018 are Andrew Balding (61 horses covered - compared to only 27 three year old and older horses in last week's Racing Post), Owen Burrows (42 horses), Roger Charlton (42 horses - compared to 28 in the Racing Post), Keith Dalgleish (34), Iain Jardine (25), David O'Meara (71), Hugo Palmer (53), David Simcock (38) and Roger Varian (65 - compared to 25 in the Racing Post).
A new section in AOTF this year is titled Who's The Daddy, which nominates nine unraced (but NAMED) juveniles sired by the late Scat Daddy, who is responsible for 8 Royal Ascot winners from only 16 runners during his short stallion career. Owned by Coolmore, namely messrs Magnier, Tabor and Smith, this will be his last crop of juveniles. I will be surprised if there isn't at least a few high-class juveniles amongst the list. Scat Daddy has already made an impact this year with his three year olds with Mendelssohn producing an awesome performance in the UAE Derby last week and is firmly on course for the Kentucky Derby. He is also responsible for the unbeaten Kings Shield who made it two out of two at Kempton this afternoon.
Don't forget to place your order for Ahead On The Flat (£9.99) before the season finally steps up a gear or two at Newmarket and Newbury the week after next. AOTF is due to be published early this week and all orders will be despatched immediately.
Just a reminder, too, the Aintree Grand National Update will be emailed to clients on Tuesday evening. There is still time to order a copy - price £6.00.
