Due to the prevailing dry Autumn, Nicky Henderson has been slow to start this season with only 4 runners during November but now the rain has arrived, Seven Barrows is ready to unleash the majority of its team. The former champion trainer has won the opening two miles novices' hurdle at Kempton on Monday four times during the last ten years, inclduing with Champion Hurdler Epatante in 2018. Top 40 Prospects entry Attacca (10/11) enhanced his trainer's already impressive record in the event still further with a length victory. Confirming the promise he had shown in a Warwick bumper last spring, the four year old jumped slickly throughout and, while he was pushed along turning for home, Nico De Boinville's mount kept responding. Pushed out, the Mahler gelding still looked raw and can only improve for the experience. While effective over the minimum trip here, Attacca threatens to be even better over further. He looks a nice young prospect who should progess as the season unfolds. The Top 40 has had 5 winners from 8 runners thus far.
The entries for Cheltenham's November meeting for Saturday and Sunday have been published this afternoon. I am working on those for the November Update and intend to include a stable interview, which will be revealed over the next couple of days. Please head to the Publications section of the site to order your copy, plus the other Updates for the season ahead.
