With temperatures plummeting, the jumps meeting are set to be severely disrupted in the coming days. Leicester went ahead on Wednesday and Taunton should survive on Thursday but the rest of the scheduled fixtures in the UK look in trouble. I am due to work at Carlisle on Sunday but the Cumbrian track is already frozen and unraceable and has next to no chance of taking place with freezing temperatures forecast for the next four nights.
I have therefore taken the opportunity to start work on the Christmas Special which is due to be published on Thursday 22nd December. I have spent most of Wednesday studying the entries for the King George, Welsh National and Paddy Power Chases. All three events will be covered in the Christmas Special, plus plenty of other races over the Festive period. I am also hoping to arrange an interview with an in-form trainer over the next few days - I will update readers on that once it has been confirmed. If you haven't ordered your copy of the Christmas Special and the other three OJA Updates, please head to the Publications section of the site.
The Top 40 Prospects has produced 16 winners from 32 runners and includes some exciting young prospects. These consist of Authorised Speed, Deeply Superficial, Gaelic Warrior, Gelino Bello, Jet Powered, Lac De Constance, Lossiemouth, Luccia, Queens Gamble and Stay Away Fay. 15 of the 40 haven't run yet either so hopefully there are still more high-class youngsters waiting in the wings.
