Keith Dalgleish acquired the Sir Michael Stoute trained Evaluation for 30,000gns at the Newmarket Horses in Training Sale in October 2021. That Dubawi gelding won four times last year with his official rating rising from 68 to 91. The Scottish handler returned to the same source at the same sale last Autumn and spent 50,000gns on the lightly raced Morning Sun (15/2). A maiden for his previous connections in only four starts, he shaped encouragingly on his first run for Dalgleish at Redcar last month finishing third. Reappearing in a ten furlongs handicap at Ayr on Monday, he was ridden from the front by Billy Garritty and dictated throughout. Quickening the tempo over two furlongs out, the son of Muhaarar stretched away to win comfortably by two and a half lengths off a lenient looking mark of 74. Featured in the Significant Sales section in Ahead On The Flat, Morning Sun is entered at Hamilton on Sunday and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him reappear quickly under a penalty. The four year old could looks capable of following up.
