The new edition of One Jump Ahead has been completed - I spent Thursday morning completing the Index at the printers. The plan is for the book to be published the week starting Monday 19th September. Due to the demand, orders will be sent out in batches over the course of the next few days after it has been published. I started processing orders on Friday and will continue to do so over the weekend and beyond. OJA consists of 196 pages and there are 738 horses covered. If you haven't ordered a copy or the Updates, please head to the Publications section of the site.
Find out which horses the following were talking about:
"I schooled him a lot at home and also rode against him at Auteuil. He will make a very nice chaser eventually. I think he will prove a shrewd buy." James REVELEY
"She is a gorgeous filly who we are very excited about." Rich RICCI
"A horse I like a lot, he jumps for fun and I can't wait for him to go over fences." Harry FRY
"He has a big engine and we are hoping he will develop into a useful novice hurdler." Tom LACEY
"I am very excited about him. He has done amazingly well physically since coming over from France. Indeed, you wouldn't recognise him compared to when he first arrived." Gary MOORE
"Another to have undergone wind surgery, he will go novice handicap chasing and I think he is well treated." Paul NICHOLLS
"I like him a lot and was impressed with him when finishing a close second. He is one to look forward to." Jonjo O'NEILL jnr
"I think he will improve significantly this season. He looks great at home and is as big as a bull. I haven't lost faith in him." Nicky RICHARDS
"I think he could be very, very good and go a long way." Dan SKELTON
Switching codes, day two of the Doncaster St Leger meeting on Thursday was considerably better qualitywise than it had been twenty four hours earlier. Having selected Mimikyu in the Listed Galtres Stakes at York last month, it was somewhat galling to see John and Thady Gosden's filly return to form and win the Group 2 Park Hill Stakes. The well bred daughter of Dubawi raced much too keenly on the Knavesmire and was fitted with a hood for the first time on Town Moor. It certainly worked the trick with Frankie Dettori riding a much more patient race and she ran out a comfortable two and three quarter lengths victor. It is worth remembering her full sister Journey wore the same headgear and it didn't do her any harm. The Group 1 Prix Royallieu at Longchamp (1st October) over the same trip of a mile and six could be her next target.
