Cause Toujours & Waiting Patiently impress

The Top 40 Prospects continue to thrive with two more winners in the last twenty four hours. Waiting Patiently was raised thirteen pounds for winning a novices' handicap chase at Sedgefield on his fencing bow last month. Malcolm Jefferson's gelding had no trouble carrying a penalty to victory at Newcastle this afternoon with another smooth success under Brian Hughes. The five year old jumped very well once again and only had to be shaken up after the last to readily see off previous winner Forest Bihan by two and a quarter lengths. Clearly effective on easy ground, he looks a terrific addition to the Jefferson stable having resided with Keith Reveley last term. It will be interesting to see where he goes next.

Declan Phelan's Irish Pointers in One Jump Ahead has seemingly unearthed yet another potentially exciting prospect in Cause Toujours. The four year old was a faller in his sole point before joining Dan Skelton. Reported to have worked well in recent weeks, he was strong in the market and his supporters never had an anxious moment. Having breezed to the front turning for home, he easily pulled clear to win by a hard held seven lengths. Whether he remains in bumpers this season remains to be seen but he certainly looks a horse with a bright future. As discussed, Declan's article has been in fantastic form - this week alone, it has unearted Neon Wolf and Cause Toujours. It is worth its weight in gold.

I am currently working on the Christmas Special, which concentrates on the feature events over the Festival period. Anthony Bromley sent me a text yesterday regarding a very exciting three year old which has joined one of the biggest yards in the business. He will certainly be included in the Update - don't be surprised if he develops into a serious Triumph Hurdle contender. If you would like to order a copy of the Christmas Special, please click on the Publications section at the top of the page. The Update is £6.00. Last year's edition included Minella Foru (advised @ 14/1) for the Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown.
