Heading south

With there being no prospect of racing in the UK before Wednesday next week at the earliest, due to the recent outbreak of equine flu, I have started interviewing for Ahead On The Flat. On Friday, I spoke to Roger Charlton and went through his string for 2019. Champion apprentice Jason Watson was appointed the Beckhampton trainer's new stable jockey at the end of last year and he has a lot to look forward to, including some potentially exciting three year olds.

On Sunday, I am heading south to conduct four interviews next week. My first port of call is Ralph Beckett at Kimpton followed by a trip to Ed Walker's yard in Upper Lambourn. Then, I will travel over to Newmarket and have lined up interviews with William Haggas and Roger Varian. It promises to be an informative few days and I am looking forward to it. I will therefore update the Diary on my return.
