I am delighted to announce that the November Update will include an interview with Cheltenham Festival winning trainer Jamie Snowden. The former assistant to Nicky Henderson, who is based at Upper Lambourn, has made an excellent start to the season with 21 winners already on the board. Jamie is responsible for one of the leading contenders of the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham on Saturday courtesy of Ga Law. He has assembled a strong team of novices, too, including recent Sandown scorer Colonel Harry who has some exciting targets ahead of him. The yard has also taken charge of another potentially top notch novice hurdler who could be aimed at the Grade 1 Challow Hurdle at Newbury on New Year's Eve. The horse in question has yet to run for Snowden.
The November Update will be emailed to clients on Thursday pm - please go to the Publications section of the site to order your copy, if you haven't already done so.
It was another successful day for followers of the Talking Trainers section in One Jump Ahead with Galia Des Liteaux (15/8), Green Vault (4/6), Maximilian (5/2) and Step Above (12/1).
Galia Des Liteaux produced a very good performance to win the Listed mares' chase at Bangor on Wednesday on her chasing debut. The former Irish pointer had won over hurdles at Wetherby last season but Dan Skelton has firmly been of the opinion the daughter of Saddler Maker would improve once sent chasing. Jumping well, she stayed on powerfully in attritional conditions to register a nine lengths win. Her next target will be the Listed Lady Godiva Mares' Novices' Chase over two and a half miles at Warwick (8th December) and it will take a smart mare to beat her.
Congratulations to Brian Hughes who booted home his 100th winner of the season aboard Maximilian at the Welsh track. The dual champion jockey achieved the same landmark on the 22nd November last year so he is already ahead of schedule on twelve months ago.
In other news, Grade 1 winning novice hurdler and Sky Bet Supreme NH runner-up Jonbon is entered over fences at Warwick on Monday but is more likely to head to Warwick (16th November) a couple of days later for the Highflyer Bloodstock Novices' Chase. He has reportedly schooled very well.
