We Have A Dream who is featured in Bromley's Best Buys in OJA put his experience to good use in the opening juvenile hurdle at Warwick. The Martaline gelding had run three times over hurdles in France before being transferred to Nicky Henderson during the summer. Daryl Jacob kept it simple sending his mount to the front from the outset and he proved a cut above his rivals scoring by ten lengths. His jumping alone will stand him in good stead and more wins look assured this winter.
The Top 40 Prospects had a couple of reversals yesterday but the once raced Diese Des Bieffes redressed the balance at Fontwell. Like We Have A Dream, the Martaline gelding was having his first start for Henderson having run once in a bumper for Dan Skelton in February. Partnered by the promising James Bowen, the four year old was receiving thirteen pounds from market leader Highway One O One and made the most of it when winning by four lengths. The grey showed a smart turn of foot between the final two flights and looks a horse with a decent future.
Diese Des Bieffes is owned by leading owner Jared Sullivan and I am delighted to say I am interviewing him early next week for the One Jump Ahead Update. Jared has spent heavily during the summer, especially on new talent from France and it should make for very interesting reading. Don't forget, if you haven't already ordered the Update, please head to the Publications section. It is £6 for the first one or £34 for all 5.
I am working at Aintree tomorrow for Racing UK. A significant amount of rain is forecast overnight so expect conditions to be on the testing side on Merseyside on Saturday.
