I am currently working on the Royal Ascot Update, which will be emailed to clients next Sunday evening (18th June). If anyone would like to order a copy who hasn't already so, please go to the Publications section of the site. The Update is £10. The 2015 edition produced 11 winners, including Amazing Maria (33/1) and the first three home in the Royal Hunt Cup. There were 9 winners in last year's copy, including Outback Traveller (10/1) in the Wokingham and Librisa Breeze (advised @ 25/1 - 2nd) & Mitchum Swagger (advised @ 33/1 - 3rd) in the Royal Hunt Cup.
Whilst working at Haydock yesterday I spoke to Roger Varian regarding his running plans for the five days, plus he mentioned a few of his other horses. The information he passed on will be included in the Update.
Bateel was an impressive winner of the Group 3 Pinnacle Stakes at the Merseyside track. Revelling in the testing conditions, the former David Simcock trained filly had reappeared over a mile and seven last month when chasing home Marmelo. Dropping in distance, the Francis Graffard trained four year old was given a confident ride by Richard Kingscote and she readily eased past Ajman Princess and Dubka to win hard held. Granted similar conditions, she could be back over the same course and distance next month in the Group 2 Lancashire Oaks, where she may cross swords with last year's winner Endless Time. That would be an exciting head to head because the Godolphin filly ran well in the Yorkshire Cup last time before her stamina seemingly gave way close home.
