William Haggas had kindly send through a list of his intended runners at the York Ebor Festival next week. The head of Somerville Lodge has provisional pencilled in 25 runners over the four days, including some very interesting unexposed types - he has also passed on news of a lightly raced three year old who will be taking on older horses in a valuable handicap in the coming weeks. All will be revealed in the York Ebor Update. If you haven't ordered a copy of the Update, please head to the Publications section of the site.
Point King, who is featured in the Maidens In Waiting section of Ahead On The Flat, made it three out of three with an emphatic victory in a Listed event at Leopardstown on Thursday evening. Joseph O'Brien's son of Zoffany was tackling Pattern company for the first time and passed the test with flying colours with a two and a quarter lengths win. Stepping up to a mile and six for the first time, he is a fast improving colt and should make a high-class stayer next year. The further he goes, the better he looks.
On Thursday, I had the pleasure of running through leading owner Rich Ricci's star studded string for One Jump Ahead. The team consists of between 35 and 40 horses, including 21 who will be contesting either bumpers or novice hurdles this winter. Rich and Susannah have spend 'a bloody fortune' on new recruits from Ireland and France, including some most exciting prospects. Readers are in for a treat.
I will be updating the Publications section shortly with full details of One Jump Ahead and the 5 Updates - the publication date is mid September but clients will be able to order shortly. I will also be emailing and posting letters to previous clients with all the details.
