As discussed, the French Revolution section in One Jump Ahead has been in good form in recent weeks and Kabral Du Mathan (100/30) added his name to the growing list of winners with victory in the Chatteris Fen Juvenile Hurdle at Huntingdon on Friday. Successful on his jumping bow for Arnaud Chaille-Chaille at Clairefontaine in July, the Pastorius gelding was acquired privately shortly afterwards to join Paul Nicholls. Given time to acclimatise, he was conceding eight pounds all round at the Cambridgeshire track and, having raced on the outside, Harry Cobden produced his mount between the last two flights. Staying on strongly, he prevailed by a length and a half and looks set to develop into a Boodles Juvenile Hurdle contender at Cheltenham. The four year old looks another good acquisition from across the English Channel for the champion trainer.
