The going for the three day Ayr Western meeting, which gets underway on Thursday, was described as good to soft, soft in places at 7.41am on Monday. There is no more rain forecast between now and the rest of the week, which is good news for our ante-post selection for the Ayr Gold Cup who was suggested in the York Ebor Update. He is also guaranteed a place in the line up assuming he doesn't meet with a setback between now and Saturday. Fingers crossed he goes close because we have certainly got some value having been advised at 20/1 last month.
I am currently working on the Autumn Update which will include full analysis of the Autumn double, namely the Cambridgeshire and Cesarewitch, plus the Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp. I also intend to make selections for the races such as the Cheveley Park, Middle Park and Royal Lodge Stakes on the Rowley Mile on Saturday 24th September. Just a reminder that the Update will be emailed to clients on Thursday 22nd September. If you haven't ordered a copy (£6), please head to the Publications section of the site.
Thank you very much to all those clients who have purchased One Jump Ahead and the Updates over the weekend - there has been another surge in sales during the last 48 hours - it is much appreciated. Readers of last year's OJA will recall that the Olly Greenall trained Monte Igueldo featured in the Top 40 Prospects. The ex-French gelding was unable to fulfil his potential due to a fibrilating heart failing to win any of his six starts since arriving in Cheshire. However, following a break of 144 days, the five year old broke his duck with a half length success in a two miles maiden hurdle at Worcester on Monday - at the rewarding odds of 14/1.
