The Top 40 Prospects have produced 11 winners from 22 runners with two more added to the tally in the last 24 hours. Invincible Cave belied a big market drift in the concluding bumper at Navan to score on his Rules debut for Gordon Elliott yesterday. The Court Cave gelding looks a strong stayer and very much one for the future. It is possible he will continue in bumpers for the time being with a view to going hurdling this time next year.
Brio Conti scrapped home on his chasing debut at Carlisle this afternoon. Following an early mistake, Paul Nicholls' gelding jumped beautifully thereafter and looked set to win decisively on the run to the final fence. However, he was forced to dig deep late on and just got the better of Alzammaar by a short head under Sean Bowen.
As discussed, I interviewed leading owner Jared Sullivan this afternoon regarding his powerful looking string for the winter ahead for the first One Jump Ahead Update (emailed to clients on Thursday evening this week). Jared, who has owned the likes of Silviniaco Conti and Zarkandar amongst others in recent years, currently has 25 horses in training with Willie Mullins, 9 with Nicky Henderson and one apiece with Harry Fry and Alan King. There are certainly some exciting young prospects amongst them with any number of new recruits from France and the Irish pointing field. Jared has marked our card regarding the ones his respective trainers particularly like. I am sure clients will find it a very interesting read. There is still time to order a copy of the Update - please go to the Publications section of the site. The Update is £6.00.
