The first One Jump Ahead Update will be emailed to clients on Thursday evening (15th November). There is still time to order a copy - please head to the Publications section of the site. I interviewed Keith Dalgleish this morning for the Update. The former Flat jockey has trained 12 winners from only 52 runners this season and is currently operating at a strike-rate of 23%. He is responsible for a number of promising youngsters and I am sure clients will find it an interesting and profitable interview.
I was working at Carlisle yesterday and the highlight was undoubtedly the two and a half miles beginners chase which went the way of the unbeaten Vinndication. Not seen since landing the Listed Sidney Banks Memorial NH at Huntingdon in February, Kim Bailey's stable star make virtually all producing a fine round of jumping in the process. He looks set to develop into a high-class staying novice chaser this winter. Three miles looks well within his stamina range. The runner-up Uncle Alastair ran a cracker and it is only a matter of time before Nicky Richards' charge goes one better. He will be tough to beat on the northern or Scottish circuit next time.
I was delighted to see the highly regarded Epatante win on her British debut in the opening novices' hurdle at Kempton. A dual winner of APQS bumpers in France, the No Risk At All filly pulled hard during the early stages but it didn't prevent her running out a most impressive three and a half lengths. Admittedly, she was receiving weight from the geldings but she oozed class throughout and is a terrific prospect for the Top 40 Prospects.
