York Update winner Shaara (7/2)

The John & Thady Gosden trained Shaara (7/2) was suggested for the Listed John Musker Stakes at Yarmouth on Wednesday in the York Ebor Update and the daughter of Shamardal duly landed the ten furlongs event by the narrowest of margins. Tried in the Group 3 Fred Darling Stakes at Newbury in the spring, she was given a break afterwards and has benefit from time and a step up in distance during the second half of the season. A ready winner at Nottingham on her previous start, she returned to Pattern company at the seaside track and just got the better of Mise En Scene in a driving finish. She is a progressive filly who has earned another crack in Group company. The Clarehaven team have done a terrific job with her.
