Interview with Ed Bethell in York Update

The York Ebor Festival Update, which will be emailed to clients on Monday next week (21st August), will feature an interview with Ed Bethell who has enjoyed a terrific season. The Middleham handler took over the reins from his father James at the end of 2020 and following 22 winners in 2021 and 2022, he has sent out 33 winners already in 2023. Operating at a strike-rate of 26%, Regional provided the yard with a Listed success in the Achilles Stakes at Haydock in June and Oviedo won the Zetland Gold Cup at Redcar the previous month. The former is set to line up in the Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York on Friday week having won both his starts this term, and the five year old will be back up by a small but select team heading to the Knavesmire next week. Ed kindly ran through over 20 horses, including a couple of well thought of unraced two year olds to look out for during the final months of the turf season, when we spoke on Wednesday afternoon. It promises to be an informative and profitable read.
