Apologies for the lack of updates in the Diary during the last eleven days. I have had a few issues with my computer and, given the fact I know even less about fixing computers than I do horses, I haven't been able to access my website. Fingers crossed everything is back in working order now though.
ValueRacingClub.co.uk continue to go from strength to strength with 3 winners from their last 5 runners. Competition made it two wins from two starts at Uttoxeter during the last eight days with a two and three quarter lengths victory at the Midlands track on Wednesday. Bought cheaply out of Brian Rothwell's yard, the son of Multiplex has been placed twice on the Flat and scored a couple of times over hurdles from five outings since joining Dr Richard Newland.
Stablemate Leoncavallo, who was acquired for £21,000 in January and was a five lengths winner of his one and only start for VRC at Ludlow in May, skips this weekend's Listed Summer Hurdle at Market Rasen in preference for the €300,000 Galway Hurdle with Sam Twiston-Davies already booked to maintain the parternship. The six year old, who was raised nine pounds for his latest win, looks another astute addition to VRC's equine squad. As I have stated before, they are a tremendous syndicate and I know a lot of my clients have enjoyed an awful lot of fun and success since getting involved in the club's various horses. I am proud to be associated with ValueRacingClub.co.uk. If you still haven't got involved, please head to their website and get in touch with manager James Couldwell.
Talking of jumpers, I am intending to start interviewing for One Jump Ahead next week. I have been doing some prep work during the last couple of weeks and have hopefully unearthed some rising stars.
