Admittedly, he was a short price but it was good to see UAE Prince shed his maiden tag at the second attempt. Touted as a Derby contender before he even stepped foot on a racecourse during the spring, Roger Varian's colt finished third on his debut at Leicester in April. While his connections may have been initially disappointed, the ten furlongs maiden was won by Ulysees with Imperial Aviator finishing second. Absent since, he returned to the same Midlands track this afternoon and readily saw off his eight opponents to win by upwards of four and a half lengths. Andrea Atzeni's mount was always travelling smoothly and only had to be nudged out to win decisively. It will be interesting to see what mark the son of Sea The Stars is allocated. There is every chance he will have another run this year but he threatens to make a classy four year old next term.
All orders received by lunchtime today for One Jump Ahead have been sent out. Those received this afternoon/evening will be despatched tomorrow morning. The response has been tremendous and it is greatly appreciated. Don't forget there is still time to order the Autumn Update, plus the Email Service, which gets underway next month.
