Clipper Logistics interview

On Monday afternoon, I spoke to Clipper Logistics racing manager Joe Foley and he kindly ran through the pick of the high profile owner's horses for the new Flat season. These include some exciting three year old and Joe also selected half a dozen two year olds who will be running in their familiar grey silks in 2023. It is an excellent addition to Ahead On The Flat, which is due to be published in early April.

Switching codes, Joe Dadancer (5/4) provided Declan Phelan's Irish Pointers section in One Jump Ahead with another winner at Southwell on Monday. Ben Pauling's gelding, who underwent wind surgery after his reappearance at Wetherby last Autumn, was dropping back in trip in the two miles novice hurdle. The Califet gelding jumped neatly before taking over turning for home. A bold leap at the last sealed his win as he bounded seven and a half lengths clear. Nicky Henderson's former assistant is already looking forward to sending the six year old over fences next term. He is a decent horse with a good future.
