Malton trainer Brian Ellison has his team of jumpers in tremendous form with his last nine runners finishing 161111114. They included a treble at Sedgefield with Windsor Avenue providing the highlight on his chasing debut. Featured on page 173 of One Jump Ahead, the Winged Love gelding was rated 134 over hurdles but has always looked the sort to make a better chaser. A former Irish pointer, he made his fencing bow over an extended two and a half miles at the County Durham track and Brian Hughes was keen to maximise his partner's stamina. Making all, he soon had market rival Western Ryder (made mistakes) in trouble and readily pulled away after the second last. A 21 lengths victor, he is likely to contest another ordinary novice under a penalty before stepping up in grade.
The addition of Jonjo O'Neill into the Talking Trainers section of OJA is paying dividends with Prefontaine (9/2) providing the Jackdaws Castle team with their latest winners. His interview has also included Pop Rockstar (10/1), Soaring Glory (7/2), Terry The Fish (16/1) and Young Wolf (6/4).
