Fitted with a tongue tie for the first time and ridden more prominently, the highly regarded Asum got off the mark at the second time of asking over hurdles at Taunton. Only fourth last time at Warwick, he overcame two indifferent jumps at the final couple of flights before repelling the challenge of ex-Flat racer Amour De Nuit. Harry Skelton feels the gelding will benefit from stepping up in trip in due course and he also feels decent ground brings out the best in him. It will be interesting to see what rating he is granted. The Top 40 Prospects has produced 30 winners from 64 runners at a strike-rate of 47%.
I am continuing to work on the Christmas Special but there is still time to order a copy. Please go to the Publications section. In all likelihood, it will be sent out on Thursday, unless I have a change of plan and send it tomorrow evening. Either way, I will keep clients informed on here tomorrow.
