Thank you

Thank you to those clients who have emailed in recent weeks regarding my health, it is very kind and much appreciated. Unfortunately, I have had a virus which has lasted over a month now and has really knocked the stuffing out of me. Thankfully, I am over the worst and hopefully will be back to full fitness shortly. Having been told to rest during that period it obviously means I haven't been able to do any work, either for myself or Racing UK. Therefore I am well behind regarding the forthcoming edition of One Jump Ahead and ask for your patience regarding publishing dates etc. Once I am 100% again, I will attempt to make up for lost time but, at the moment, I am very much towards the rear with plenty to do. I will keep subscribers informed on here.

While Saturday 8th July was a hugely successful day for Ahead on The Flat, that wasn't the case last Saturday. One felt hard done by in the John Smith's Cup at York. UAE Prince overcame a wide draw and held every chance before finishing fourth. However, granted a bit of luck and a stronger gallop, I am convinced another Top 40 entry Garcia, would have take a lot of beating. Richard Fahey's gelding was making his belated seasonal reappearance and, having been held up early on, Jack Garritty's mount stayed on strongly on the outside to finish fifth. Only beaten a length and a quarter, it was the first time he had tackled ten furlongs. The handicapper has left his mark (95) alone and he is on a rating to win a similar event. Unfortunately, he is highly unlikely to be 14/1 next time he races. This was a missed opportunity.
