Switching Codes, the Ballydoyle Juveniles section in Ahead On The Flat has had a terrific summer. Seventeen two year olds trained by Aidan O'Brien were highlighted and they have included Group 1 winners Blackbeard (Prix Morny) and Little Big Bear (Phoenix Stakes), plus Group 2 winners Aesop's Fables and Meditate. Other Pattern winners include The Antarctic and Victoria Road. 

News on the Top 40 Prospects, neither Gaassee or Greenbarn will be running again this season. Indeed, the latter has been retired having suffered with a kissing spine. I spoke to her former trainer Michael Dods at York last week. On a more positive note, Lionel has joined John and Thady Gosden. It remains to be seen whether the Listed winner runs again this season but he should develop into an exciting four year old in 2023.
