Shortly after it was announced that Grade 1 winning novice hurdler and Arkle Trophy fancy Draconien has been ruled out for the season having picked up an injury, another ex-French trained gelding Dragon D'Estruval hasn't been declared for the Betfair Stayers Handicap Hurdle at Haydock on Saturday. Both horses were recommended ante-post in the November Update. The lack of recent rain is the reason why the latter isn't lining up at the weekend.
On a positive note, there were a couple of decent winners at Market Rasen which featured in the Talking Trainers section of One Jump Ahead. Seemingly So (4/1) was bought for £100,000 having finished runner-up in his only Irish point (behind Top 40 entry Dlauro) and he won the two miles two novice hurdle on his Rules debut for Olly Murphy. The gelded son of Dubai Destination threatens to be even better over further with stamina appearing to his strong suit. Harry Fry was complimentary re Winningseverything (11/4) on page 60 and the four year old stayed on strongly to win the concluding bumper by four lengths. Noel Fehily wisely pulled his mount wide seeking better ground in the home straight and the Flemensfirth gelding powered away to win with something in hand. There is a Listed bumper at Ascot in a month's time which may be considered by connections. He looks another nice prospect for Paul and Clare Rooney.
