I am working at Haydock Park this evening so will update the Diary properly tomorrow but I would like to thank those clients who have emailed in the last couple of days re the Royal Ascot Update. Following the successes of Settle For Bay (advised @ 16/1 for the Royal Hunt Cup), Agrotera (advised @ 14/1 for the Sandringham Handicap) and Dash of Spice (advised @ 10/1 for the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes) it has been a decent week with 6 winners in total. All being well, we will have a good final day at the Royal meeting. It has been an enjoyable week and it was a privilege to work there on Thursday to witness a thrilling finish to the Ascot Gold Cup. Predictably, there has been the usual share of hard luck stories. In different circumstances, Shades of Blue may have won the Queen Mary Stakes and the same comments apply to Fairyland in Friday's Albany Stakes. The unluckiest selection of the week though was First Eleven in the King George V Stakes on Thursday. John Gosden's colt should have won the twelve furlongs three year old handicap. Overall though, I would have taken 6 winners over the first four days - Settle For Bay was terrific in the Royal Hunt Cup and never looked like getting beaten.
