I spent an enjoyable couple of days at Ayr's William Hill Festival on Friday and Saturday. Whilst there, I kept an eye on the action at Newbury and it was great to see Young Rascal get his career back on track in the Group 3 Legacy Cup. William Haggas' Chester Vase winner hadn't been seen since disappointing in the Epsom Derby. Given plenty of time since, the son of Intello battled on gamely under Jim Crowley to get the better of Mirage Dancer and Desert Encounter. His trainer is already eyeing the Yorkshire Cup next spring.
Thank you to those clients who have ordered copies of One Jump Ahead whilst I was north of the border. Those orders will be posted out on Monday morning. I wrote an article on the Sporting Life website last Thursday - 5 ex-French horses to keep an eye on for the winter months. Hopefully that will whet the appetite for the proper jumps season.
I will be back to update the Diary early next week. In the meantime, I will crack on with the Autumn Update, which is due to be emailed to clients on Thursday (27th September).
