Donald McCain has enjoyed a very productive campaign with 48 winners on the board, including Grade 2 success at Haydock on Saturday courtesy of Navajo Pass. The Cheshire based handler has built up a good team of youngsters, especially in the novice hurdle division, and has plenty to look forward to in the coming weeks and month. Indeed, Donald intends sending a strong raiding party to Musselburgh's Trials meeting (6th & 7th February) next month. I am therefore delighted to announce that the February Update will include an interview with Donald who has passed on his views regarding his novices.
The poor weather continues to disrupt the jumps action with Kelso abandoned on Tuesday, while both Catterick and Wincanton hang in the balance twenty four hours later. I am due to work for Racing TV at the former, although the North Yorkshire venue needs to start thawing out.
Depending on whether Catterick receives the go ahead, I will be back to update the Diary shortly. In the meantime, please head to the Publications section of the site to order a copy of the February Update, if you haven't already done so.
