The William Haggas trained Lattam got up on the line to win the Irish Lincolnshire on the opening afternoon of the Irish Flat season at the Curragh. Twice a winner last term, the lightly raced four year old appreciated the rain softened ground and Chris Hayes's mount overcame traffic problems to head Saltonsall close home. A lightly raced gelding, he is a Shadwell cast off who was scoring off a mark of 87 here. He will have no trouble staying further, too, but the ground will dictate his programme.
I am working at Carlisle on Sunday and then over the next few days complete Ahead On The Flat with a view to taking the book to the printers on Wednesday - two days of proof reading to look forward to on Monday and Tuesday. Just a reminder, the book will hopefully be published just before Easter and pre orders will be sent out as soon as possible. Frustratingly, there is no post on Good Friday or Easter Monday but the turf action in the UK is thin on the ground in anycase until the season clicks into gear properly with the Newmarket Craven meeting (18th - 20th April).
Thank you very much to those who have already ordered, it is much appreciated. If you haven't placed your order, please head to the Publications section of the site.
