I interviewed Malcolm Jefferson at his Newstead Stables this morning for One Jump Ahead. The Malton based handler enjoyed his best ever campaign last winter with 40 winners and Malcolm passed on the latest news regarding his Grade 2 winning novice chasers Cloudy Dream and Waiting Patiently, plus some interesting youngsters. Some of those have yet to see a racecourse - the stable look set for another productive campaign and it an interview I am sure readers will find informative and profitable.
The York Update had another good day with 2 winners thanks to Marsha (advised @ 10/1) and Mojito (3/1). Despite the fact Threading (advised @ 5/1) won the Lowther Stakes, yesterday was a disappointing one overall. It has been a good week overall though and it could have been even better with a bit of luck with the draw. I am convinced both Hey Jonesy (sales race on Thursday) and Suedois (City of York today) would have prevailed granted lower draws - the pair tried to do it the hard way from the front with very little company. As discussed, I will write a more detailed review on Sunday. I am heading back to the Knavesmire tomorrow for the final day of the Ebor Festival.
