First of all, apologies for today's Email Service selection, it was embarrassing. Well backed before the off, he held every chance at the top of the hill but was readily left behind once turning for home. He must be better than he showed today. The only thing I will say is that his stablemate was equally disappointing on the same card. I will be working harder than ever to turn things around.
The highlight on Sedgefield's card was undoubtedly the winning hurdling debut of Ravenhill Road in the two miles novices' hurdle. Unbeaten in three starts beforehand, including a couple of bumpers at Market Rasen and Doncaster, Brian Ellison's former Irish pointer was partnered by Brian Hughes for the first time and he couldn't have been more impressive. The six year old jumped and travelled beautifully and toyed with his rivals before sauntering to a twenty three lengths success. While the Exit To Nowhere gelding clearly has the speed for two miles, he will have no trouble staying further and could be one of the most exciting horses trained in the North for some time.
Dynamic (4/1) provided the Autumn Update with another winner at Newmarket. William Haggas' filly didn't have the rub of the green on her handicap debut at Sandown last time but she showed her truth worth on the Rowley Mile with a gutsy display off a mark of 80. She could be a progressive filly next year.
