Small fields were the order of the day once again on Monday but there were no shortage of winners in One Jump Ahead. Declan Phelan's Irish Pointers unearthed Northern Bound (2/1) and Seven De Baune (8/15) at Ludlow, while the former also featured in Bromley's Best Buys. The Talking Trainers section was responsible for Crooks Peak (7/4) and Mia's Storm (4/6) at Kempton, plus Sternrubin (9/4) at Ludlow.
In addition, Keith Dalgleish's stable interview in the November Update is starting to bear fruit. The former Flat jockey sent out a double at Musselburgh courtesy of Born For War (11/4) and Glorious Lady (13/2). Keith couldn't have been more accurate on page 13 of the Update regarding the former. He commented that the six year old looked ring rusty on his previous start and he is inclined to put some headgear on him next time and possibly switch to fences. Sporting a visor for the first time, the ex-Tom George trained gelding won the novices' handicap chase at 1.55 by thirteen lengths. You can't say fairer than that. Priceless information.
