Sharjah, who is featured in the French Revolution section of One Jump Ahead, made an impressive start to his National Hunt career for Willie Mullins with a five lengths win at Gowran Park. Always prominent, the Doctor Dino gelding jumped slickly and then quickened up well on the approach to the final flight. Ruby Walsh appeared to be very pleased with the performance and he looks a good prospect.
For the second consecutive season, Ballyandy made his seasonal reappearance at Perth and he was a winner on his chasing debut yesterday. The Betfair Hurdle winner jumped OK and then had too much pace after the final fence for Cheltenham Festival runner-up Fagan. A length separated the pair with a further fifteen lengths back to the third. The winner will presumably run at Cheltenham's first meeting at the end of October and then return to the same venue in November. It was a satisfactory start to his fencing career without necessarily screaming Arkle or JLT future winner.
