The entries for the Grade 1 events at Leopardstown over Christmas and this weekend at Fairyhouse make for interesting reading with the Top 40 Prospects in OJA in mind. I was particularly pleased to see the horse featured on page 41 amongst the former category.
The French Revolution section has produced Djelo and Irish Point in recent weeks and Intranet (11/8) became the latest winner when taking the second division of the two miles maiden hurdle at Punchestown on Tuesday. A four year old by Saddex, he was making his debut for J.P.McManus and Willie Mullins having won a bumper in his native country. Admittedly, his task was made easier when market rival Timmy Tuesday pulled up early on but the winner stayed on well to beat Cork bumper scorer Belle The Lioness by two and a half lengths with a further nine lengths back to the third. Entered in a Grade 1 novice hurdle over the Festive period, Intranet left the impression he will be suited by a step up to two and a half miles in time. He looks a nice prospect without being a superstar.
