Overcoming an absence of 555 days, Daddy Long Legs (11/8) made an impressive start to his jumping career winning the two miles maiden hurdle at Thurles by 13 lengths. Runner-up on his sole start on the Flat for Nicolas Clement in France last year, the gelded son of Almanzor was purchased for €210,000 in July 2022 before joining Willie Mullins. Owned by Joe and Marie Donnelly, the four year old is featured in the French Revolution in One Jump Ahead and he outclassed his fourteen rivals travelling strongly before pulling clear after the second last. Entered at Grade 1 level at Leopardstown over Christmas, he is an exciting prospect who looks ready for a rise in company.
Jamie Snowden's horse to follow in OJA, namely Passing Well (9/4), won at the second time of asking over fences at Lingfield on Thursday. The six year old finished runner-up on his chasing debut at Ascot earlier this month and made a step forward at the Surrey track staying on strongly to win the two and a half miles novices' handicap chase by a length off a mark of 122.
