I have decided to send the February Update out on Wednesday (2nd) - a day later than planned - because I want to study the entries for the Dublin Racing Festival, which are not published until tomorrow. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. There is still time to order a copy via the Publications section of the site.
Two more winners for the Top 40 Prospects on Monday, although Black Poppy made heavy weather of winning the opening novices' handicap hurdle. Kerry Lee's youngster appeared well treated off his mark of 108 and was backed as though defeat was out of the question. Headed on the run-in, the Kayf Tara gelding dug deep and regained the advantage close home to score by half a length. At least the assessor can't be too harsh and he will hopefully follow up in a 0-115 handicap next month. Well done to those clients who snapped up the 7/2 on offer by William Hill on Sunday afternoon.
