Unraced 3yo winner Shader (13/8)

Shader is featured in the Unraced Three Year Old section in Ahead On The Flat and the well bred son of Shamardal got off the mark at the second time of asking at Southwell on Tuesday. A homebred belonging to Juddmonte, he is out of Shutter Speed who was the first horse to beat the brilliant Enable and won the Group 3 Musidora Stakes for John Gosden in 2017. Third on his racecourse bow over ten furlongs at Yarmouth last month, Robert Havlin's mount appreciated the step up to twelve furlongs at the Midlands track making good headway in the homestraight. Once hitting the front, the Gosden runner pulled away to register a seven and a half lengths victory. Another novice stakes will be next and he looks a decent long-term prospect for next year.
