The curtain came down on the National Hunt season at Punchestown on Saturday. I have therefore added up the statistics for the featured horses in One Jump Ahead 2025/206, which are listed below:
Top 40 Prospects 31 winners from 110 runners (28%)
French Revolution 22 winners from 129 runners (17%)
Irish Pointers 43 winners from 135 runners (32%)
Stable Switchers 10 winners from 32 runners (31%)
Overall, I was disappointed with the Top 40 Prospects. Admittedly, the fact six of the forty never saw a racecourse last term didn't help, plus the likes of Narciso Has and Upon Tweed had their season cut short due to injury. However, some of the 'new recruits' from either France or the Irish pointing field failed to live up to expectations having arrived with lofty reputations. On a positive note, Bossman Jack, Narciso Has and No Drama This End provided the section with Grade 1 wins.
As usual, Declan Phelan's Irish Pointers article had an excellent campaign with 43 winners at a strike-rate of 32%. They included Grade 1 winners Le Frimeur (18/1) and With Nolimit (14/1), plus a host of promising youngsters.
The Stable Switchers did well, too, with Grade 1 winner Talk The Talk and dual Grade 2 scorer Thistle Ask highlighted. The latter was the star of the show with four wins from six starts with his official rating climbing from 115 to 160. Bought for £11,000 in May last year, the gelding won at Kelso, Wetherby, Exeter and Kempton including the Grade 2 Haldon Gold Cup and Desert Orchid Chase at the last two named venues. Cruelly, the nine year old lost his life at Sandown on the final day of the season.
In conclusion, One Jump Ahead included the following Grade 1 winners Apolon De Charnie, Bossman Jack, Mange Tout, Narciso Has, No Drama This End,Talk The Talk and With Nolimit.
As regards the One Jump Ahead Updates, I was pleased with the results overall. The highlights included:

Christmas Special - HAITI COULEURS (Advised @ 8/1) WON the Welsh National

Thank you very much to all clients who purchased One Jump Ahead and the Updates this season, your continued support is greatly appreciated. Work has already begun on the 2026/2027 version.
Switching codes, the Top 40 Prospects in Ahead On The Flat has made an excellent start with 11 winners from 21 runners in 2026. They include exciting prospects Double Rush, Earth Shot, Ravenspire, Saber Strike, Synchronicity and Talk of New York. The Maidens In Waiting and Unraced Three Year Olds section have also unearthed some promising types, none more so than the ante-post favourite for the Epsom Oaks, namely I'm The One who runs in the Cheshire Oaks on Wednesday.
As discussed, we have virtually sold out of copies of AOTF with only a few remaining in stock. If you would like to order a copy, plus the Updates, please head to the Publications section of the site.
