Tremendous 2025 for Updates

Thankfully, jumps racing is set to return on Thursday following a barren few days due to the chilly weather. On a positive note, it has allowed me to do some early prep for the Flat season accumulating lists of horses for interviews starting next month. It has also been a good opportunity to reflect on the first half of the jumps season and the how the featured horses in One Jump Ahead have performed. 

The Top 40 Prospects has unearthed exciting youngsters BOSSMAN JACK, EL CAIROS, KEEP HIM COMPANY, MYDADDYPADDY, NARCISO HAS, NO DRAMA THIS END, THE REVEREND and UPON TWEED. The French Revolution section has produced BERTUTEA, MANGE TOUT and SAINT BACO, while Declan Phelan's Irish Pointers article has been in red hot form with victories for promising types BENTRAGHHILL, CRISTAL D'ESTRUVAL, CRYSTAL ISLAND, LAZARE DU STAR, LE FRIMEUR, MASKED MAN, NO WALKOVER, RISKY OBSESSION, TAURUS BAY and THE BURREN MAN. Finally, the Stable Switchers section includes two of the 'finds' of the season, namely THISTLE ASK (4 out of 4, including two Grade 2 victories and his offical rating climbing from 115 to 158) and TALK THE TALK (2 wins and unlucky not to collect in Grade 1 company at Leopardstown last time). 

There are three One Jump Ahead Updates remaining during the 2025/2026 season. The November Update selected PANIC ATTACK (6/1) for the Paddy Power Gold Cup and the Christmas Special advised HAITI COULEURS @ 8/1 for the Welsh National at Chepstow. The latter's victory rounded off a hugely successful year for the Updates - Flat & Jumps - in the major handicaps under both codes.
