Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore dominated the seven race card at Ayr on Saturday with a four timer. The quartet included Top 40 entry Jet of Stars who made an impressive start to his career under Rules in the concluding bumper. Bought for £230,000 last spring having won his point-to-point in Ireland for Denis Murphy, he proved much too strong for his two rivals making all and pulling clear in the homestraight. Still raw, the five year old will hopefully make an exciting novice hurdler next season.
Bibe Mus (7/4) is featured in the Changing Codes section of OJA and the former Ross O'Sullivan trained gelding won the juvenile handicap hurdle at Sandown on his first run for Paul Nicholls. Bought privately by Anthony Bromley on behalf of Colm Donlan, of Langer Dan fame, he was racing off a mark 122 and carrying twelve stone. Always travelling well for Harry Cobden, he got tired on the run-in but was value for more than the winning margin of three lengths. I contacted Anthony afterwards and he said the son of Camelot had only been at Ditcheat for three weeks and ought to improve.
Just a reminder that the One Jump Ahead Cheltenham Festival Update will be emailed to clients on Sunday evening. If you haven't already ordered, please head to the Publications section.
