Tawny Port, who is featured in the Significant Sales section of Ahead On The Flat, was bought out of James Given's yard for 32,000gns last Autumn and he won on his third start for Stuart Williams at Windsor on Monday evening. Too keen on his reappearance at Ascot last month, the five year old finished sixth at Goodwood twenty four hours earlier and it clearly put him spot on for this. Dropping back to five furlongs, he travelled well under P.J.McDonald before coming through with a strong challenge to win going away by a length and a quarter. Scoring off a mark of 83, he was placed in the Ayr Bronze Cup last September and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him develop into a Portland Handicap horse in September. Five and a half furlongs on Town Moor would be ideal.
